Quinn Evans associate Charles Thompson’s presentation at Autodesk University on Digital Twins for Historic Preservation was highlighted by Architectural Record as a standout session at the conference.

Recognized as one of the “tools, presentations, and projects that caught RECORD’s eye,” the session showcased how Quinn Evans is leveraging Autodesk Tandem’s digital twin technology to track building performance in real time at the Michigan State Capitol. As an example of balancing heritage and innovation with historic preservation technology, Charles demonstrated how sensors monitoring temperature, humidity, and occupancy throughout the Capitol help inform preservation strategies. He also highlighted Tandem’s “Warehouse View” feature, which enables maintenance teams and designers to isolate groups of elements like windows or doors for better planning.
