We had a blast last week at AIA24, the American Institute of Architects’ annual Conference on Architecture and Design! Almost all of our 200+ team members gathered in Washington, DC, to attend the conference and related events.

President Alyson Steele delivering remarks as we accepted the Firm Award.

We officially accepted the 2024 Architecture Firm Award. President Alyson Steele, FAIA, LEED AP, and our board of directors were on stage to receive the award while the rest of us cheered from the front rows.

After the College of Fellows investiture ceremony.

Our colleagues Anath Ranon, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Leora Mirvish, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, were inducted into the AIA’s College of Fellows. Steven Spurlock, FAIA, LEED AP, secretary of the College of Fellows, helped conduct the honors.

Marisa Allen, AIA, LEED AP, Fitwel Amb., giving tour attendees the inside scoop on our work on the National Museum of Natural History South Entrance.

Our team members led 13 sessions on a variety of topics, from professional development to inclusive performance spaces at the Kennedy Center.

Sara(h)s from four different offices, together for the first time.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary together. This was the first time our entire firm has gathered in one place since 1999.

Also importantly, we pet puppies!

Thanks to the AIA and all of our colleagues who traveled from afar for a great conference week!
