Meeting Patrons Where They Are
Woodlawn Library
Woodlawn Library
Our renovation of this 1977 library tailors it to the Woodlawn community’s current needs while creating flexibility for the future.
Driven by extensive community feedback, our design completely reorganizes the library’s interior to improve circulation and visibility between spaces. New windows and skylights bring daylight into the heart of the building, while a glassy entry addition serves as a beacon welcoming patrons into the library.
Adjacent to a high school, the library accommodates a daily influx of teens after school lets out. Our design supports them with a dedicated teen area, additional group study rooms, and greater visibility from the circulation desk. Other new features cater to patrons of all ages, including a café, digital media lab, recording studio, and multipurpose meeting rooms.
