Stephanie combines interests in landscape architecture and history into the historical landscape design and cultural resource management processes at QEA. In her work, it is critical to integrate history into the future of a site, and to expand the concept of sustainability to incorporate the site surrounding a building. For Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa, she incorporated the process of research, documentation, evaluation, and coordination with a team that included tribal representatives, archaeologists, and ecologists to provide recommendations that preserve representative examples of moundbuilding cultures in the American Midwest.
