In 2017, Quinn Evans Architects (QEA) established a scholarship fund at the University of Michigan to honor the late Michael Quinn and co-founder David Evans. This year's recipient is Waylon Streiff Richmond, who is obtaining his Master of Architecture at The University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture and is expected to graduate in 2021.
The impact both of the QEA founders made on the historic preservation and architecture community can now be passed on for years to come.

“Without this assistance my higher education would not be possible. I will honor your contribution through dedication to my studies and production of the best work I am capable of.”

File Description

Waylon's favorite architect is Geoffrey Bawa, who is known as the pioneer of “tropical modernism.” Bawa’s contributions to architecture transformed the appearance of southeast Asia. Receiving this scholarship has not only made it possible for Waylon to attend graduate school, it has also provided him with the confidence to achieve goals that once seemed impossible.
